Position Summary:
Food Service Area Managers work with an assigned group of stores to ensure company policies and procedures are followed and standards are met. This role hires, trains, supervises and provides guidance to Restaurant Managers while also supporting management staff by assisting with hiring, training, performance management, disciplinary actions, and general managerial duties. The Food Service Area Manager also performs various store audits and completes action plans with management as needed. While training management or in the absence of Restaurant Managers, Food Service Area Managers will help in maintaining proper store operations. This role requires travel up to 95% of the time.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide active, onsite leadership to store management to ensure proper procedures and policies, including food safety and Serv-Safe, are being followed, and standards are being met, along with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop and coach Restaurant Managers while also assisting management with their staff, including disciplinary action, in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
Conduct performance appraisals of managers and implement goals to aid in their development and success.
Complete regular audits as required to assess compliance with policies and operational performance. Follow up with constructive feedback and action plans for improvement as needed.
Analyze store performance and review results with managers, providing feedback and developing action plans to achieve desired performance.
Demonstrate, and instill the importance of a high level of customer service.
Address customer feedback and assist management in doing so in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
Perform duties of a restaurant manager when needed to achieve company standards.
Attends to other duties as appropriate.
A valid drivers license and the ability to drive for extended periods of time
Basic computer and software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel and email); ability to learn and utilize the store’s retail software technology
Working knowledge of performance management, team building, labor management (including scheduling), and expense management
Ability to work with little to no supervision while effectively completing job functions
Required to regularly stand, walk, balance, stoop or kneel, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.

Education & Experience:
5-7 years of management experience preferred, with at least 3 years of food service experience required.
