JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly dynamic individual to lead the mobile development solution architectures that deliver the Marriott’s Digital Transformation strategy. The right candidate will work with the Product Owner and engineer teams to co-create the solution architectures that will enable new innovative and transformational customer experiences. The candidate be accountable for developing highly scalable mobile solutions leveraging Apple and Android operating systems, and interacting with cloud-native, SaaS, and custom developed solutions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
- Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering) or equivalent architect experience.
- 10 years relevant work experience developing for several mobile platforms (iOS/Android), both transition and target state Solution, Data, Integration and Deployment Architectures for large scale mobile digital transformations including conceptual and logical diagrams, models, prototypes, and roadmaps.
- 10 years’ work experience architecting Mobile Digital Experiences leveraging Content Management solutions, Digital Asset Management, Language Translation, Personalization, Offer and Promotion management platforms and services.
- Very sound understanding and experience in interacting with domain driven architectures for large enterprises and ability to define API’s and/or micro services across domains.
- Strong experience in defining the right deployment topology for mobile applications with consideration of high availability, high performance while ensuring data sanctity across deployments.
- Strong understanding of the data protection & privacy laws across geographies and their impact on deployment topologies.
- Excellent presentation & negotiation skills, experience in presenting to the senior technology as well as business leadership.
Preferred:
- Experience with assisting the client, customers in explaining and applying enterprise solutions on mixed mobile platforms.
- Experience with setting up and building POC/POT to demonstrate new or innovative mobile technologies.
- Experience with architecting web and hybrid enterprise mobile applications for several mobile platforms (iOS/Android).
- Experience in aligning the vision and technology roadmap for mobile solutions that operate within the roadmap.
- Experience in implement multilingual site, as well as the utilization of transliteration services.
- Expertise in collaborating on bigger projects and working with global project teams to deliver solutions that match the quality parameters.
- Assisting to ensure suitable regularity of mobile solutions, structures, and solutions architecture across multiple projects, as applicable.
- Expertise in strategy and reliability among system elements as they are advanced; identify when crossing point influences which might occur and providing an early solution to avoid issues.
- Experience with two or more mobile technologies including Kotlin, X code, Swift, Java, and experience with offline applications, data persistence and security on the mobile device.
- Very strong grasp on the architecture & design concepts like CQRS, Sidecar, Circuit breaker, Backend for front end etc.
- Experience in enforcing & implementing NFRs like security, reliability, availability, monitoring, data governance, scalability, performance, retry-ability, reconciliation etc. as non-negotiable aspects of application design, development & deployment.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing The Day-To-Day Data Architecture
- Develops and delivers long-term strategic goals for technology architecture vision and standards in conjunction with Service Providers, users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders
- Assesses and determines governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing technology across the organization
- Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall technology management roadmap
- Conducts technology life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks
- Identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement
- Verifies that technology strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance
Developing and Maintaining EA Standards
- Develops and promotes technology management methodologies and standards
- Defines standards for Service Providers to address technology-related problems in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration
- Defines guidelines for Service Providers to develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of technology architecture
- Defines guidelines for Service Providers for documenting the technology architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger technology picture
Building Successful Relationships
- Project Managers and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise applications
- Acts as a leader and advocate of technology management, including coaching, training, and career development to staff
- Liaises with vendors and Service Providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals.
