Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee the assembly of all products while confirming that all production personnel perform their roles efficiently and in accordance with industry best practices, resulting in cost-effective production of products that meet our high-quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direction, development and leadership to department associates ensuring effective employee relations.
- Provides associate coaching and development and resolves associate issues through problem resolution.
- Reviews and interprets production schedules for proper sequencing of orders and recommends revisions/adjustments.
- Support the development of lean manufacturing processes; continuous improvement, visual management, standard work, problem solving, training and employee involvement.
- Evaluates scrap rate and takes the appropriate actions to reduce it to maximize profitability.
- Evaluate First Pass Yield target misses to identify and determine the root cause; coordinate with the Quality Manager and Production Manager to resolve, develop, recommend corrective and preventative actions
- Evaluate workload and ensure proper utilization of all associates and equipment.
- Direct and manage department associates to ensure assembly operational goals are met and accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Balances quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Monitor and adjust as needed to ensure overall department performance for production, productivity and quality standards.
- Manages inventory to minimize variances
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Preferred, 4-year degree in business or relevant 5-8 years’ experience
- Prefer background of technical knowledge and additional specialized training in assembly and leadership
- Must work effectively with others
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to motivate employees
- Ability to work and lead cross-cultural, diverse teams
- Able to plan and organize daily activities, analyze data, and react to changes and challenges
- Basic math and English skills required
- Knowledge of acceptable quality limits
- Working knowledge of 5S / Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to be flexible and work Saturdays and extended work schedule as required.
