Overview
The CORT Furniture Outlet team is looking for a self-motivated and customer-focused Retail Business Development Executive.
CORT Furniture Outlet sells our new and previously leased furnishings at an unbeatable value, offering our customers the opportunity to pay a lot less for the styles and quality they want.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in working with businesses across many industries with a variety of work environments from Technology start-ups, Commercial Real Estate, Construction, Supportive Housing, Multi-Family, and other targeted industries to identify their potential needs that could be met with the sale of CORT’s previously leased and new furniture.
A variety of sales initiatives from networking, prospecting, and introductory presentations to calls with existing customers to build rapport and develop new business opportunities are involved with this position.
This position will work directly in our Outlet Center 2-3 days a week and 2-3 days in the field.
Pay: base is $40,000 - $45,000 / year depending on experience; plus 5% uncapped commission on delivered sales.
Expected yearly total earnings $65,000 - $75,000 / year!
Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday 9am-6pm; ability to work at least forty (40) hours per week and additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
- Research market trigger events and initiate a connection with the contacts who make decisions on furnishings whether for the office or residential.
- Drive Retail sales by identifying new prospective customers and by maintaining relationships within targeted industries through face-to-face meetings, distribution of Retail marketing collateral, and telephone prospecting.
- Develop and maintain a monthly sales plan to identify the sales activities which will drive new opportunities through promotions and marketing efforts to include research, telephone prospecting, cold calling, and Retail referral incentives.
- Effectively utilize Salesforce to follow through on leads, contacts, and opportunities to Develop and maintain customer relationships in order to generate future sales.
Utilize computer to complete proposals, prepare sale agreements and obtain necessary information from customer to complete sales.
- Assist in the safe maintenance, appearance, merchandising and pricing of store to company and District standards of the furniture.
- Help us drive traffic to the Outlet through social media and networking.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of B2B sales experience preferred (Office or Supportive Housing Industries a plus)
Strong communication skills, written and oral
Excellent reasoning skills and computer proficiency skills
Must speak English (bilingual a plus)
Valid state driver’s license
Reliable personal vehicle to utilize while out in the field
Ability to work 40 hours/week with varied hours/days to provide support for showroom, sales events, meetings, networking functions, etc.
