Payroll clerk positions often are entry-level, although many companies prefer at least some previous payroll experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is a basic requirement; however, firms also usually seek payroll software experience. Payroll clerks have a high school diploma or equivalent, and solid communication and customer service skills. Inputs data from time sheets, production records, or individual time cards to computerized payroll system. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
