Pay Rate - $23/hr
Job Description
Meet manufacturing and purchasing demands by planning for all system and departmental requirements.
Attend Shortage meetings, identify shortage items requiring expediting.
Define and schedule weld shop/paint room priorities as back up, when necessary.
Maintain bill of material changes for Customer Folder discrete mfg jobs.
Process all Customer Change Notices to related mfg jobs.
Review job variances of Customer Folder jobs for closeout.
Use varied notifications to identify requirements including: MRP, Shortage reports, manufacturing reports, and Kanban cards.
Enter, maintain, and file purchase orders.
Expedite manufacturing and purchasing shortages of assigned items.
Exhibit strong purchasing skills for all assigned purchased items, while aggressively reducing prices.
Set up contract Kanban orders for assigned items.
Perform timely review of contracts for continuing coverage.
Develop proficiency using EIS, Oracle 10.7 Manufacturing and Purchasing programs, and E-Proc Purchasing programs.
Consult with Engineering dept. on material substitutions when necessary.
Process all approved Engineering Change Notices and Requests for New Part Number of assigned items.
Evaluate Kanban bin sizes, adjust necessary quantities, assist in flow line set up, and update information into Oracle computer system.
Keep ISO Work Instructions updated and current.
Focus activities on ways to meet all Customer requirements while reducing inventory on-hand and increasing inventory turns.
overtime and limited travel will be required as needed.
Additional duties as required.
Required Education and Experience
B.S. in Inventory Management/Business, or an A.S. Degree, with a minimum of two years of previous experience, or minimum 5 years work related experience.
Previous manufacturing planning, scheduling, and purchasing experience preferred.
PC proficiency is a must, and a working understanding of information systems, in general, is required.
Experience with Internet Buying, Flow Manufacturing, or Oracle Systems is considered beneficial.
Display proficiency understanding manufacturing routings, bill of materials, and drawings required.
Interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities, are a primary prerequisite of this position.
