Responsibilties - What you will do:
Assist with Agronomy field activities, following all procedures to ensure high quality yield and seed production plots to meet the needs of research customers.
Assist with all aspects of agronomy effort for corn, cotton and soybean plots from planting preparation through plot harvest.
May hire, organize and supervise work of Research Assistants and/or temporary employees ensuring work is performed in safe and efficient manner.
Contribute to the safety effort at the research center by leading assigned safety standards and participating in other safety activities throughout the year.
During downtime, may be requested to take on additional responsibilities from other areas of the research center.
May be requested to travel to other research centers to assist in activities during peak workload times.
Provide examples of no more than two problems or issues most frequently encountered by a person in this job.
Determine how to make all applications or duties fit into tight timelines when weather or other factors shorten application window.
Identify appropriate uses of company resources when conducting agronomy activities.
Provide examples of no more than two types of decisions routinely made on the job including the results/outcomes of those decisions.
Make daily decisions associated with conducting agronomy activities to ensure all tasks are completed for a specific work period.
Prioritize work activities to ensure most critical needs are met first.
Qualifications
Qualifications - What you will bring:
- Candidates should have a Bachelors degree in Biology, Agriculture or a science related field with 2-4years of relevant industry experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as math and computer skills.
- Broad theoretical grounding and understanding in specialized or technical areas (i.e. chemistry, biology, engineering)
- Ability to do physical lifting and work in varying ergonomic environments.
