Responsibilities – What You Will Do:
How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!
- Develop working knowledge of all the Valdosta manufacturing site’s laboratory methods to support the business units and operating areas.
- Perform quality management processes in the laboratory and assist in supporting similar quality management processes throughout the site, such as ISO 9001.
- Perform routine, non-routine analyses and other tasks necessary in order to ensure effective operation in support of manufacturing.
- Maintain analytical results, laboratory instrumentation, standardization, and equipment documents as quality records, to ensure accuracy of data produced.
- Assist analytical and development chemists and operations leadership to correct, resolve and improve results, and investigate problems and complaints from all parts of the business.
- Operate various analytical instruments to perform all routine and non-routine analytical tasks associated with product and environmental samples both in the quality laboratory.
- Adapt new analytical methods to the Valdosta manufacturing site with the guidance of a chemist or quality leader to support new products and analytical needs for existing products.
- Handle laboratory waste in a safe and effective manner in compliance with Corteva Agriscience guidelines and local and federal laws.
- Provide documentation for analytical methods, in support of the quality system.
- Troubleshoot routine methods used in the production unit labs to support operations.
- Train other laboratory technicians in the use of routine laboratory methods, to ensure that everyone can solve method or other analytical problems.
- Accept constructive feedback from the quality leader as part of the laboratory’s continuous improvement efforts in all pertinent areas.
- Participate in incident investigations, team meetings, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

- You have a High School Diploma/GED.
- You have Chromatography experience.
- You have 2 years of laboratory experience (in school and/or work).
- You have experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation (i.e. balances, titrators, LC, GC, pH meters).
- You have experience performing analyses using analytical techniques.
- You are comfortable with computers and have basic Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- You are comfortable with basic mathematical equations; add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- You value safety and are committed to following all safety protocols to work safely.
- You are a clear communicator and work effectively with others.
- You can read, comprehend, and follow procedures/instructions written in English.
- You understand that delivering to our customers on-time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work a rotating shift (i.e. 8, 10, 12 hour) including weekends with some opportunity for overtime hours and holiday work required during seasonal peaks to achieve business goals.
Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:
- An Associates or Bachelors degree in a Natural Science, Chemistry, or similarly related field.
- Experience working with LIMS, SAP, or a similar software.
