Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for aResearch Associate to join our team in Union City, TN. You will support research activity by assisting in mechanical maintenance and agronomic activities for effectively conducting experiments and recording data. You will efficient daily operation of facilities and equipment and/or field locations. You will assist in the management and organization of agronomic activities for corn, soy and cotton experiments, as well as data collection and trial execution efforts for a multi-crop research station.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the execution of agronomic activities at a multi-crop research station.
Maintain and improve the efficiency and safety of daily workplace operations.
Manage team resources: employees, equipment, discretionary funds, etc.
Collect data and assess data quality.
The Research Associate will be expected to contribute to the joint success of all research groups at the Union City Research Center.
May organize and direct work of other employees.
May serve on teams appropriate to specific research project.
Position coordinates activities through collaboration with the field team, breeding team, and other research colleagues. Completing program objectives requires leading and negotiating decisions with competing interests and priorities.
Program plans are often challenged by changes in weather. Adjusting to change and implementing a new plan requires flexibility, understanding of crop development, effective resource management, and effective program management skills.
Position will be responsible to target continual improvements and efficiency gains in research processes.
Make daily decisions associated with conducting experiments.
Decide priority of work activities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
Bachelor's degree in agriculture/scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience required or a minimum of 10 years in industry related experience required.
Demonstrated excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork, enhance a positive work environment, and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people
General knowledge and skills with computers and data management.
Strong aptitude to operate and maintain planting and harvest equipment including electronics, GPS systems and data collection systems.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision and time management.
Must be capable of lifting 60 pounds
Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
Ability to obtain commercial driver's license.
