What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Database Developer position at CorVel Brand?
CorVel Corporation is hiring an EDI Software Engineer to develop best practice solutions that support the movement of data to and from multiple business systems. You will be involved with overseeing all aspects of the development for assigned projects, from gathering and refining requirements all the way through deployment.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing technical projects and working with a software development team as well as a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. This position is a mix of developing and working with other team members on development of solutions, with an emphasis on best practices and forward-thinking solutions.
This is a remote position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the project owners and project requestors and users to refine requirements.
- Apply sound software engineering processes, including iterative development, unit testing, source code control and peer reviews.
- Learn our business model and understand existing enterprise applications.
- Participate in regular meetings with development teams.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- 7 years developing software, using Microsoft SQL Server.
- 3 years of development experience with Microsoft Visual Studio in conjunction with C#, TSQL, and Source Control (TFVC, Git, etc.).
- Experience developing Microsoft SQL Server Stored Procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Good spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Additional preferred skills:
- Demonstrated ability to design a normalized SQL Server database.
- Familiarity with build/release processes and continuous integration.
- Experience with Dependency Injection and IoC Containers.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including SQL Azure databases.
- Previous EDI and/or Healthcare experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
Pay Range: $77,760 – $129,456
