What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead position at Corvus Energy?
Corvus Energy is currently establishing a new production plant in Bellingham / Fairhaven and is looking for an experienced Production Lead. This is your chance to join a growing team, building a new production plant in Washington State.
Position Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for managing the production staff and manufacturing process to ensure ESS projects are delivered to our customers according to the contract date.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct activities on the assembly line to deliver to the production schedule.
- Be the gate keeper of product quality. Raise concerns quickly and be part of the team to solve problems.
- Assist in the creation, training and implementation of standardized work processes and a 5S environment.
- Drive the production team to implement continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the QHSE Manager to monitor Health & Safety in the production facility.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Own metrics for the given area and be accountable for each operation's metric accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.
- Assist in activities to identify root cause and corrective action.
- Perform employee reviews of production team personnel.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
Work Experience and Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in a technical area, or long experience.
- A self-motivated individual, with the ability to deal with individual and team behaviors.
- A leader that can motivate others through advice and experience.
- Experienced in assembling, preferably electro-mechanical products.
- Should be familiar with, and firmly believe in, the principles of Lean Manufacturing and in the value of continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, interpersonal & organizational skills.
- Proficient in using production problem solving techniques.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a production technician and at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Be proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experienced with ERP system, preferable Dynamics 365
