Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst Intern works with both Business and IT teams to perform thorough analysis of our business needs, applying analytics techniques and developing solutions to drive strong outcomes. Activities include analyzing client requests, determining data needs, creating dashboards using documented procedures, assuring quality and data accuracy, reviewing our current data landscape, and assisting with development of a new data catalog. Successful candidates must display technical aptitude and be curious to try new things.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Creates, updates and maintains dashboards utilizing Power BI.
Creates, updates and maintains data consistency and data quality by assisting with development of a data catalog.
Attends meetings with business partners to understand requirements.
Support research and analysis using a variety of data tools.
Creates and runs SQL queries in order to analyze data and build a data catalog.
Provides great service and technical support of issues, including data validation and maintaining reporting accuracy.
Interfaces with Business Units, Client Services Desk, vendor and other IT areas, as needed.
Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
Attends all required company training and employee development.
Attends monthly department meeting or reviews safety material independently.
Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Position Requirements
Education and Certifications Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
Current or entering Junior or Senior in a qualified college or university, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems or, Business Computer Information Systems
Skills and Abilities Required
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Strong organizational skills with ability to work on multiple tasks.
Analytical thinker with a technical mindset.
Fast learner who is flexible and adaptable to change.
Ability to create and execute SQL queries.
Ability to work effectively as a project team member.
Skills and Abilities Preferred
Knowledge of PowerBI.
Physical Requirements
Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.
Indoor, office environment.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Works extended hours as needed or directed.
Uses computer for extensive periods of time.
