Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst 2 works with business and systems partners to ensure rapid thorough analysis of complex business needs, applying analytics techniques and developing solutions to drive strong outcomes. Activities include analyzing and creating reports using documented procedures, assuring quality and data accuracy, and delivering the reports and dashboards on time to internal customers. Must have strong communications skills with the ability to design, report and present data to business partners in a user-friendly format, providing recommendations that drive insights from the data. Successful candidate must be well versed in data analysis, creating, and maintaining data catalogs, data dictionaries, as well as reporting and analytics tools. The Business Intelligence Analyst 2 will have strong PL-SQL and Microsoft PowerBI skills. Technical experience and aptitude are attributes that are necessary for success.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Creates, updates and maintains reporting solutions utilizing Power BI, Business Objects Designer and WEBI for multiple business partners with minimal assistance needed
- Ability to design Dashboards and Reports with minimal assistance
- Ability to design and create wireframes for collaborating with business users on requirements
- Ability to lead design and requirements meetings with business and systems partners
- Creates, updates and maintains data consistency and data quality by providing updates to the data catalog/data dictionary
- Engages business partners to understand their needs, map to logical and physical data models and develop thoughtful insights into the data
- Creates and runs PL-SQL queries to analyze data and develop solutions with minimal assistance needed
- Provides great service and technical support of issues, including data validation and maintaining reporting accuracy
- Provides ad hoc query and reporting to business requests, as needed
- Interfaces with Business Units, vendors, and other IT areas in the development of reporting solutions
- Assists manager in developing/revising and documenting policies and procedures for supporting data governance and reporting best practices
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support
Secondary Position Responsibilities
- Attends all required company training and employee development
- Attends monthly department meeting or reviews safety material independently
- Cross-platform problem solving, solution investigation and delivery
- Mentors junior Analysts
- Participates/represents IT Enterprise Applications during Enterprise and departmental projects
- Performs other duties and activities as directed

Position Requirements
Experience, Education and Certifications Required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems or, Business Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role
Experience, Education and Certifications Preferred
- PowerBI Certification
- Any Cloud Certifications
Skills and Abilities Required
- Strong abilities in using Power BI and/or Business Objects for data analysis and report/dashboard creation
- Demonstrated understanding of data analysis concepts and methodologies such as data warehousing and data modeling
- Ability to create and execute moderately complex SQL and/or PL-SQL queries
- Strong experience with DAX within Microsoft PowerBI
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to end users
- Ability to collaborate and lead meetings with end users and other IT groups
- Ability to gather and evaluate functional and technical requirements for medium complexity product enhancements
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to influence direction
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, OneNote)
- Prior business systems analysis experience
- Ability to drive root cause analysis activities
Skills and Abilities Preferred
- Experience working in cloud technologies, such as Azure Data Factory and/or Azure Synapse
- Strong Data analysis and modeling abilities
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts
- Experience guiding medium to large enhancement projects a plus
- Experience in Business Objects Designer for creating and maintaining universes, WEBI, Derived tables, @functions and schemas
