Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general labor, set up equipment, operate pump, apply concrete/shotcrete, or perform other assigned duties to support the concrete/shotcrete application process.
- Ensure all areas to receive concrete/shotcrete are clean, sound, and free of loose material; and that anchors, reinforcement, and ground wires are properly placed and spaced.
- Demonstrate understanding of concrete/shotcrete pump operation, inclusive of understanding of shotcrete mix designs and their impact on the pump.
- Set elevations, grades and thicknesses for the shotcrete placement.
- Control the air that increases/decreases the velocity to ensure proper placement and proper encasement/build-up of concrete/shotcrete surface support, for wet process.
- Prepare and maintain concrete/shotcrete mixture by applying appropriate material proportions and ratios.
- Clean surfaces of dust and loose debris prior to concrete/shotcrete application to ensure proper concrete/shotcrete adherence.
- Operate equipment such as concrete/shotcrete pump, ensuring hoses and pump are cleaned, maintained and inspected regularly.
- Store and maintain equipment.
- Perform heavy lifting.
- Adhere to safety requirements and equipment guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill
- Two years of high school and six to twelve months related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Read and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Construction knowledge and experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred.
- Forklift experience and light equipment operation experience preferred.
- Welding, concrete, fiberglass, and artistic experience preferred.
- OSHA/safety training preferred.

Work Environment
- Exposed to typical noises and smells associated with a construction environment, such as exposure to fumes or airborne particles and production machinery. Noise level is moderate to loud.
