Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing employees and upholding standards of the Food Service department. Promotes a high level of productivity and member service. Coordinates and participates in duties of the Food Service area.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

· MERCHANDISING & INVENTORY: Understands and effectively applies department principles. Implements department standards. Maintains a neat, clean, and professional working environment.

· MEMBER SERVICE: Ensures areas of responsibility have appropriate coverage to provide proper member service. Emphasizes importance of good member service with employees understands that it is job #1. Maintains a positive attitude during difficult circumstances such as handling member, employee, and/or supplier concerns, etc. Finds ways to ensure member concerns are addressed.

· ADMINISTRATION: Writes an appropriate schedule for department. Uses all information available to ensure efficiency and productivity.

· MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Teaches employees how to do their jobs in the most efficient and effective manner. Respectfully gives both corrective and positive feedback in a timely, specific manner, formally (Performance Logs, Appraisals, Appreciation Notices, etc. ) and informally (while performing work in the department, etc. ). Ensures employees demonstrate appropriate, professional work practices and behaviors holds employees accountable when behavior is contrary to policies and procedures. Clearly communicates expectations, tasks and goals in a way that employees understand. Is fair and consistent in the application of all rules, standards, and policies.

· COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner and adjusts communication style to the audience (e.g. , members, employees, VP, etc. ). Uses communication tools (e.g. email, Google Docs/Slides/Sites, texting) effectively, and in accordance with company policy. Actively asks questions to gain understanding.

· SELF-MANAGEMENT: Displays a calm, professional demeanor including body language, facial expressions, and word choices when criticized or provoked. Has a strong sense of urgency about getting work done and solving problems. Manages own behavior to prevent or reduce feelings of stress. Effectively handles multiple functions, tasks, challenges, or problems at once. Leads with enthusiasm and shares a passion for the business.

· INCLUSION: Utilizes the unique skills and abilities of employees that are important to the success of the business. Is sensitive to others’ balance of work and personal responsibilities, interests, and/or concerns.

· COMPLIANCE & SAFETY: Identifies and follows up on issues of noncompliance and notifies appropriate levels of management in a timely manner. Takes measures to ensure employee and member information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy. Understands and adheres to Company policies and procedures, including the Employee Agreement.

· Coordinates duties, breaks, and lunches of Food Service crew. Sets pace and provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to Food Service employees.

· Provides and promotes prompt and courteous member service, smooth customer flow and quality of finished product. Maintains and assists members with self-serve kiosk. Monitors finished product to see that department consistency and quality standards are met.

· Observes employee performance to ensure health code compliance, such as sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates. Upholds safety and security procedures.

· Arranges cash register fund increases and change orders, performs register voids, overrides register system flags and corrects register problems.

· Observes employee performance and paperwork to determine that department procedures are followed. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance evaluations · Participates in restocking ingredients and supplies, food preparation, selling goods and cleaning up.

· Participates in periodic (13 times per year) physical inventory. Drafts orders for buying office for equipment, product, and supplies. Monitors equipment and calls for repair as needed.

· Calculates weekly and monthly totals of sales, expenses and reports to upper management. Uses computer to compile various reports.

· Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. · Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.

· Pizza oven, steam table, latte machine, ice cream and smoothie machine, dough press, scale, cash register, phone, wheeled rack, auto saucer, trash compactor, dishwasher, fire extinguisher, computer, printer, fax, copier, compactor/baler, cart, and flatbed.

Non-Essential Functions

· Assists with Front End duties as necessary.

· Assists in other areas of the Warehouse as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.

Required:

· HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation (within 30 days of hire) Leadership Development 101 (within one year) Costco Pay Policies (within 90 days of promotion) Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler’s Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).

· Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.

Recommended:

· Supervisory experience preferred.

· Food service experience preferred.

· Computer, math, customer service skills preferred.

· High School Diploma or GED preferred.
