MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

The mission of the field inspector is to, under broad supervision, to render inspection services which are timely, accurate, safe, legal, ethical, and effective.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supervise loading or discharge of cargo in containers or other modes of transport.
- Verify shipment quantity, weight and quality conforms to requirements.
- Physically measure, weigh, sample, and take temperatures (where applicable) of a variety of products in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Perform inspection/sampling of containers, barges, and rail cars at different locations in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Ensure that detailed notes and photographs are taken throughout the loading/inspection process with recording on appropriate field forms.
- Send verified results, accurate and complete inspection report back to administrative staff within 24 hours of competing the assignment.
- Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks.
- Generate and deliver processes: ownership, accuracy, and quality of execution.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent in years experience.
- One to two (1–2) years related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of specific product industry or technician level is an advantage.
- Must have a valid driver's license and willing to travel.
- Must be able to work flexible and long hours (up to 12 hours per day) around shipping schedules (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and with others as well as under pressure.
- Must have ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Strong Time Management, Organization Skills, and Analytical Skills a must.
- Demonstrates Integrity, Credibility, and Confidentiality.
- Completion of required training programs as applicable.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe, scanning, email functions and versed with using computers and technology.
- Mathematical Skills: Intermediate.
- Reasoning Skills: Intermediate.
- Knowledge of specific product industry or technician level is an advantage.
- Language Skills: English. Spanish is a plus.
