Our new team member should have 2 years of experience in purchasing and ideal experience within our industry.
Junior Purchaser:
Is responsible for purchasing products, materials, equipment and services. Key duties also include assessing procurement requirements, reviewing quotations and bids for the suitability, expense, and supply of goods. In order to effectively complete related tasks, the purchasing assistant must be proficient at word processing, spreadsheets, internet searches, and other software programs. They may be expected to engage in more formal contract negotiations and agreements as the position develops.
Purchasing assistant job duties include:
- All aspects of buying including; sourcing, budgeting, negotiating, pricing and vendor relations
- Inventory management - Receiving/stocking material
- Evaluating pricing and availability
- Ordering new products
- Secure purchase lead times
- Keeping accurate records
- Procure bids from vendors, follow up, and assess
- Update material lists for market accuracy
- Consumable replenishment
- Return material
- Tracking samples… receiving and sending
- Shipping schedule
Junior Purchaser duties include, but not limited too:
- Execute administrative tasks for senior purchaser
- Cut material costs sourcing better deals, negotiating
- Evaluating and assessing the market
- Procure vendor leads
- Supporting/developing various purchase processes
- Pinpoint bleeding out/eliminate spending
- Meet timelines for material receipt through vendor relations, broad base to source, and expediting shipping
- Booking flight, hotel, and rental accommodation
- Schedule/track maintenance records for facility and vehicle
Cottingham is willing to train someone with limited experience in our particular industry if they have desire to learn and are proficient in purchasing. We are looking for someone that genuinely enjoys the above tasks, and has the desire to develop them. We want someone that will take ownership of their work, is eager to learn, and will add value to the team.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
