Accounting Internship
Cotton, a Sikich Company is offer an exciting internship that provides practical, hands-on Accounting experience. Interns are given an opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world problems by working in challenging and team-oriented engagements with employees across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interns are responsible for providing assistance and support to the accounting or audit project team under the supervision of a senior, supervisory senior or manager.
- Requires an ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with supervisory personnel.
- Obtain, analyze, and evaluate data from the client to perform tests to substantiate transactions, records and reports.
- Review documents, transactions, records, reports, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness
- Prepare sufficient documentation to support work performed, including workpapers and summarized data reports.
- Report task progress and status to senior, manager, or partner
- Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, company/client deadlines, and abide by all company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Student of junior or senior standing working towards Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree from accredited university.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Covid-19 Vaccination: As a federal covered contractor, this position may require the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if work is performed for a client where full vaccination is a contractual requirement (fully vaccinated means completion of the requisite number of doses of a vaccine approved or authorized for use or emergency use by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and at least two weeks have passed since you received the final dose). Vaccination documentation can be provided on your first day, but is not required. Vaccine documentation may be requested in the future. Requests for accommodation/exemption from these requirements due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, observance, or practice will be reviewed by our HR Department.

Your Work Hours: Part-time - 20 to 30 hours per week.
Your Work Place/Travel: On-site work may be required. Travel may be required. You must be able to transport a laptop and working documents to these sites.
