JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a professional Instructional Designer to design and develop learning and practicing experiences. The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
- Work with external subject matter experts and identify target audiences' training needs
- Establish instructional end goals and create content to achieve those goals
- Visualize and develop instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product using Adobe Suite and the Articulate suite quick authoring tools.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
- Decide on the criteria used to assess learner's retention through developing assessment instruments
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
- Participate in the design/redesign of online and digital learning courses and related learning activities
- Assist in the selection and setup of a Learning Management System (LMS) and publish content to it
- Collaborate on the technical development of eLearning projects through all stages of the project lifecycle
- Participate in the quality review of online course designs
- Support the planning, development, and delivery of training
- Update user guides, intranet pages, and content as required
- Actively learn new techniques and procedures to enhance company learning design practices
- Ability to travel frequently to on-site functions throughout the U.S.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
- Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System (LMS)
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Experience in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise preferred
- Experience using tools such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Captivate or equivalent
- Ability to effectively communicate (in writing and verbally) to large and small audiences in-person and virtually.
- Self-started, organized and highly motivated
- Adapts quickly and easily in fast paced environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of experience, education and/or certifications).
- At least two years of work experience in instructional design and using instructional technology.
COMPENSATION
CSG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience. The salary range for this position, based in Lexington, KY is $53,500 to $63,500. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
