Budget Analyst
Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. COA is a state-designated Area Agency on Aging, serving a 5-county region. One call to COA links people to the wide variety of agencies, information and programs that serve older adults and people with disabilities.
COA has more than 300 employees, close to 300 contracted providers, and an annual budget of $102.7 million.

Position Description:
Responsible for the coordination of all projection monitoring, analyzing and reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
Preparation of Projections
- Update the monthly variance reports with comments from department managers. Highlight any concerns in terms of budget variances; provides information to department managers to help them understand their expenses
- Generate monthly projections, using data gathered from program managers, or estimates where data is not available. Create monthly reports by program, and agency wide for distribution to senior leadership team
Financial Planning and Budgeting Functions:
- Participate in the budgeting process, including data collection, data entry, budget specific calculations, budget review and changes, and compilation of budget books.
Program Budget Monitoring:
- Track and monitor program spending for those programs where we need to keep to an awarded amount (Passport, Title III, any additional federal funding).
- Produce and present monthly and/or quarterly reports for projected outcomes.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferable with a major in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of four years of experience working with general ledgers, budgeting and reporting in a multi-user environment, preferably in a non-profit or governmental organization.
- Possess proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must have excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.
