Director of Transportation

Position: Director,Transportation

Reports To: VP Procurement

The Director of Transportation is key to both inbound and outbound logistics within the Country Fresh business model. This position will support Hatfield, PA, Reading, PA and Gray Court, SC. There are three distinct areas that this role is divided into.

• Inbound Logistics
• Securing trucks to deliver FOB loads from loading points all over the US into our Nation-wide facilities.
• Able to negotiate freight rates for FOB loads
• Manage the inbound loads and interact with dispatchers, brokers and owner operators, to insure the best rates, service and quality of service.
• Aid and assist the CF plants with on time deliveries, courteous, polite and professional drivers.
• Outbound Logistics
• Overview and coordinate with the plant Transportation Managers the best use of company fleet assets.
• Overseeing fleet maintenance, major repairs and replacements with the plant Transportation Managers.
• Working with lease companies in all areas of the fleet as needed.
• Supervising the TM, at plant level, on driver’s schedules, time management, hours in service and local pay and benefits as needed.
• Safety and Compliance
• Manage programs with JJ Keller on Safety and Compliance and follow up with the TM’s at plant level.
• Manage EDL entry and compliance with fleet drivers and plant schedules.
• Manage all Transportation Safety and Compliance regulations for fleet assets
• Manage Drug and Alcohol compliance with fleet drivers
• Work with the CF Insurance carrier on accidents, incidents and compliance
• Manage OSHA rules and regulations for fleet assets and drivers

Position Requirements:

• 5 years experience in logistics, supply chain or transportation services
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or commensurate experience
• Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual a plus
• Intuition to make crucial judgement calls

Salary : $61,700 - $78,100
