Country Visions Cooperative will provide training and payment for individual to obtain Applicator license and continuous training throughout employee’s career on new agronomic practices, new technologies, and mechanical and driving training. Country Visions Cooperative will help an employee to obtain a CDL by reimbursing the individual the cost of driving school while paying the individual to attend driving school.
Job Description
The Agronomy Mechanic-Applicator will be responsible for duties that will change throughout the year depending on the season as well as maintain a positive attitude, initiative, strong work ethic, cooperation, supportive team member, reliability, integrity and tact with fellow employees and customers while working at Country Visions Cooperative. Applicants can expect to make between $50,000 and $70,000 per year and starting pay is based upon experience and ability to obtain CDL and Applicator License, Country Visions will provide help and training to obtain licenses. Daily hours Monday through Friday, some unpredictable and extended work hours including seasonally extended hours will occur.
The primary duties of this position will include mechanical and electrical maintenance of agricultural application equipment (CASE, RBR, RoGator), semi-tractors, trailers, dry & liquid straight trucks, and pickup trucks. Working with others on diagnosing and problem-solving mechanical issues in renovated shop.
The position also will include being trained and mentored to use self-propelled equipment to make fertilizer and/or chemical applications to crops in farm fields during the growing season. Applicators will be instructed how to operate the machine, field computer, and electronic dispatching to ensure customer satisfaction of timely and accurate fertilizer & chemical applications. Applicators will be trained on latest technologies (Viper 4 , Agsync, VSN, Augmenta) to make work easier and more efficient. A successful individual will be able to make accurate and timely applications, understand the products and the reason for them being applied, and communicate effectively with agronomists to ensure quality service for our customers. Another responsibility of this position will be making deliveries to farms of liquid and dry fertilizers or other products with pickup, straight, and semi-trucks will be necessary. Other responsibilities could be added or changed based on individual’s interest and strengths, these responsibilities could include precision agriculture, soil sampling, warehouse duties, seed treatment, among others. Required Skills and Competencies: (including education and/or experience, physical demands and work environment)
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Operators License. (Country Visions will help with the process)
- Valid Class A Commercial driver’s license (CDL), or be able to obtain one with a valid tanker endorsement. (Country Visions will help with the process)
- Clean driving record is required.
- Conscientious attitude and attention to detail are essential.
- Must possess computer skills adequate to operate equipment field computers.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and repair as necessary.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds.
- Mechanic experience preferred
- Do not need Farming experience, we can train you
