Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is a fast-paced hospital located in Toney, AL. We offer comprehensive veterinary services as well as daycare, boarding, grooming, and retail sales. We are seeking a veterinary assistant/technician who has had hands on experience within a hospital. Certification is a bonus but is not required. Drawing blood, running labwork, placing catheters, monitoring anesthetized patients, and working appointments are just a few of the required tasks. References and previous work history are required.

Hourly pay rate will be based upon level of experience. This is a full time position that requires a schedule that includes every other Saturday morning and a weekend rotation (Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon) about once every 8 weeks.

The most qualified candidates will have the following characteristics:

- First and foremost, you must have a passion for dogs and cats. It's what we're all about.

- Hands on experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. Being certified is a bonus but not necessary.

- Professionalism (both in communicating and in personal appearance) in interacting with customers and your team members.

- You must have a positive attitude and work well with other people.

- Committed to providing a sanitary and safe atmosphere for our patients.

- Will adhere to our dress code, which is standard for most businesses.

- Responsible, reliable, and prompt.
