Receives general supervision from Analyst staff and the Principal HR Analyst.
Does not supervise staff. May act as lead to HR Assistant on various technical items.
Any Combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
HR Technician I:
- Two (2) years of experience in human resources, payroll, accounting, fiscal recordkeeping or a closely related field.
- High school diploma or GED certificate. Business related coursework is preferred.
- Human Resources professional certification desired.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
HR Technician II:
- Two (2) years of proficient experience in a Colusa County HR Technician I role or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma or GED certificate. Business related coursework is preferred.
- Human Resources professional certification desired.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Human Resource Technician I: $3,665 - $6,018
Human Resource Technician II: $4,047 - $6,644
Plus 4% confidential pay that is not included in the stated salary.
The salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
