What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAND DEVELOPMENT INSPECTOR I position at County of Greenville?
Successful candidate will understand storm water and erosion control practices, possess knowledge in road/storm drain construction, and demonstrate comprehensive organizational and technological skills. They will be a skilled construction inspector who ensures project success through routine site inspections to ensure erosion control best management practices and water quality processes align with final designs. They will maintain compliance with contracts, schedules, and policies, collaborating with stakeholders and solving issues. They must verify quantities through field measurements, communicate deficiencies to the Project Manager, and accurately document progress in project management software. Their daily duties will be to ensure contractor adherence to specifications, ordinances, state and county regulations, policies and procedures on all commercial and/or residential sites. With a minimum of three years of fieldwork, a CEPSCI certification (within 6 months from date of hire), and a valid South Carolina Driver's License, they will collaborate efficiently with contractors and oversee the completion of multiple federally funded projects. High school diploma or GED required, with some vocational or technical training in erosion and sediment control; supplemented by three years of experience in construction, site inspections, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
