Performs clerical work in connection with the registration of voters and preparation for elections; and performs other related duties as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of clerical experience, one of which shall have been in election programs such as voter registration, candidate filing, reapportionment, absentee voting, etc.
License Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Knowledge of: principles and practices of supervision; office practices and procedures; filing systems; uses of various standard office machines including personal computers; election rules, regulations and ordinances.
Ability to: plan, assign and direct the work of others; compare names and numbers accurately; understand and interpret laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; give and follow oral and written instructions; deal tactfully and effectively with the public; work harmoniously with others.
Health and Physical Condition Requirement: Persons seeking appointment to positions in the class must meet the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of the duties.
Special Working Conditions: Irregular hours, including shift, seasonal, holiday and weekend work as required.
