What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Clerk III position at County of Lycoming?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provide general office support including, but not limited to, the following: answering and directing telephone calls; providing customer service to court users; maintaining filing systems; operating office machines and personal computers; typing documents and correspondences; entering data; updating and maintaining databases; preparing materials for meetings; proofreading and editing; preparing reports and forms; providing support to the District Court Administrator, Director of Court Services, and Deputy Court Administrator; and assisting Court Administration staff with a variety of administrative duties.
Provide jury management support including, but not limited to, the following: preparing and mailing summons and forms; processing returned questionnaires and summons; entering data into the jury management software system; replying to requests for deferral or excusal; answering routine questions; and storing records. From time to time, fill in for Jury Technician, checking in jurors during jury selection and trials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or equivalent and at least two years of related experience
- Preferred formal post-high school training or associate degree in related field
- Ability to use computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher, with proficiency
- Commitment to demonstrating conduct that inspires public confidence and trust in the Courts, preserves the integrity of the Court system, and reflects a commitment to serving the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain tact, composure, and confidentiality
- Possession of excellent customer service skills
- Possession of strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain records, assemble data, and compile reports
- Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently

Office environment with the potential for a high degree of emotional distress due to interactions with individuals who are in highly stressful situations
