This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Supervising Staff Services Analyst for Napa County's Probation Department. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.
 
Salary:  
  • $52.08 (Step 1) - $62.34 (Step 5)

About the Position & Department:
The Probation Department operates adult and juvenile court-related services in the areas of investigation and supervision with the mission to enforce court orders to inspire positive change, transform the live of offenders, victims, and families, and promote community safety. The Department is also responsible for the overall operation of the County’s Juvenile Hall, which provides custody, counseling, medical care and guidance of delinquent and custodial youth in a variety of short- and medium-term programs. The Supervising Staff Services Analyst is responsible for assigning, supervising staff, the review of complex and difficult projects, grant compliance, data governance and quality, staff services functions in such areas as general administration, budget, fiscal, legislative, personnel, staff development, data processing systems analysis, and presentation of data to a variety of stakeholders.
 
Napa County Probation in partnership with Napa County Superior Court manage  a pretrial release program and collection of victim restitution. The position will have oversight of the data collection for the pretrial program, collection of victim restitution, and data governance.

Position Requirements:
To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities.  A desirable combination is:
  • Experience:  Two years of significant, directly related and progressive experience performing administrative management, personnel, fiscal, budgetary, staff development or data processing analysis work, preferably to include some lead or supervisory experience; or one year of experience performing duties equivalent to the Staff Services Analyst II classification with Napa County.
  • Education:  Equivalent to graduation from college with major course work in business administration, public administration, systems analysis, accounting or related field.  (Responsible supervisory or higher-level experience performing a variety of difficult analytical work, which includes the independent research, analysis, and preparation of reports, in any of the following areas:  administrative, management, personnel, fiscal, budgetary, or data processing may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
License or Certificate*: Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.

*Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e., active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County.  For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
