Maintenance Intern

Job Summary:   Provide opportunities to gain experience in a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other industrial maintenance areas within a plastics injection molding facility.  Interns are expected to contribute to our success through innovative ideas and value creation.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• General helper to maintenance personnel as required

• Assists in performing regular preventative maintenance according to established schedules and procedures
• Identifies machine parts and project materials needed to complete work
• Paint, clean, organize, and assist others to repair equipment as needed
• Maintain and enhance existing PM program.
• Grounds maintenance as required

• Other assigned duties as required

Essential Qualifications:                                                                

• Currently enrolled and attending high school classes
• Must be 16 years of age prior to start date
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Interested in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, welding, fabrication and robotics

ADA Requirements:

• Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods 
• Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally
• Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously
• Exposure to machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection
• Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
