The VP of Finance is based in the corporate office and reports to the President.
What will you be responsible for?
- Promoting and maintaining the Cousins culture through living and exemplifying our core values and Believing in Better through the continual improvement in everything you are responsible for
- Utilizing all aspects of Traction® to focus on the most important issues 1st and driving results
- Turning strategy into tangible steps
- Direct supervision of the Information Technology (IT), Purchasing and Accounting departments
- Financial controls and procedure management in accordance with current accounting standards
- Periodic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Accurate and timely financial reporting and daily cash management
- Tax and audit including annual Franchise Disclosure Documents
- Cost of goods (COGS) and labor reporting and review with Operations to achieve prime margin
- Corporate and system pricing management including competitive reviews and traffic impact
- Banking partnerships including debt structure, covenant achievement and cash management
- Food supplier partnerships including contract oversight, pricing review and cost management
- Business Insurance partnerships including annual renewals, claims reviews and management
- Captive health Insurance annual renewals support, claims reviews and cost management
- Other benefit renewals, reviews and external partners, agencies and institution management
- IT oversight, network security, contract and cost management for all functional areas
- Evaluate and advise on any potential merger, acquisition or sale opportunities
- Advise ownership on all business and personal tax matters and filing of all government tax forms
- Ad hoc projects as designated by ownership, CEO, President or Leadership Team
- Maintaining business relevance by attending conferences and maintaining continuing education
- Utilizing sources such as Black Box and ITR to provide market insights and industry trends
- Creating content and presenting on areas of subject matter expertise

What are we looking for?
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field or degree with industry experience
- Masters degree can’t hurt
- 10 years financial experience with 5 in restaurant, retail or franchise financial management
- Audit, tax, business and health insurance, cash management, and financial reporting experience
- 5 years of people management and talent development
- Developed knowledge of finance, accounting, IT, procurement disciplines including ERP or MRP
- Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills
- Open and credible communication style with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills to be able to explain complex aspects in layperson’s terms
- Microsoft office suite mastery of Excel with mastery of Outlook and PowerPoint a plus
- Travel as needed for company and industry conferences, new store development etc.
