Job Summary
Golden Modesto Care Center in Modesto, California is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to assist with all repairs and physical maintenance for the community. Ensures preventive maintenance is scheduled and performed on all equipment as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Documents preventative maintenance program for facility and equipment.
- Maintains grounds including outside community repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
- Maintains inside of community, offices, and communal areas in community, including carpet and furniture cleaning, window cleaning, painting, removal of trash and upkeep of vinyl.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains and/repairs community equipment; ensures equipment is functioning properly.
- Prepares apartments for move-in and completes refurbishing of apartments after moving- out, including painting of apartments.
- Observes problems, concerns, issues with resident apartments, the community and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
- Coordinates with the local fire department for emergency procedures per state regulations/codes (i.e. fire drills)
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
- 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical repairs, plumbing, and or carpentry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have working knowledge of all necessary local, state and federal safety regulations related to building maintenance and codes.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Ability to work on a ladder.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to meet the position's requirements.
