Traffic Control Director
The Traffic Control Director (TCD) is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient operation of the REF2 Tipping building for managing deliveries, and the ash building as related to loading outbound ash and metal shipments. The TCD interacts with the delivery drivers to safely and quickly position the trucks for unloading on the tipping floor or directly to the pit.
Position Responsibilities:- Ensures delivery drivers have required PPE.
- Directs incoming waste trucks to appropriate dumping location in the tipping building.
- Performs waste screenings looking for non-processible material.
- Interacts with other TCD's and crane operators to manage the unloading considering the goal of 20 minute truck turnaround time.
- Maintains the tipping floor in a safe, professional & clean appearance. Verifies lights, piping, and "life safety equipment" in the work area. Notifies supervisor of concerns.
- Inspects and operates a front-end loader (including cleaning, servicing, fueling & greasing) and other equipment as qualified and assigned.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, or designee.
- Must successfully complete Facility Spotter training within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Must be able to pass respiratory fit test on a daily basis.
- Must successfully complete Operator Qualification Package within 90 days of employment.
