JOB SUMMARY

Develops and implements a comprehensive organizational development program that facilitates the professional development and continuous learning of Covenant's human resources in support of the mission, strategic plan and operating goals of the system. Leads and manages the design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning events, programs, policies and strategies in support of a high performing learning organization.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs needs assessments and reviews existing organizational resources to ensure that learning and development resources exist or are developed to support learning needs based upon projected competencies as well as the near and long-term goals of the organization.
  • Utilizes organizational development and adult learning theory, best practices and approaches to develop and implement effective, comprehensive programs and learning opportunities.
  • Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs and learning events to meet the professional development and continuing education needs for all Covenant employees.
  • Designs and implements programs focused on supervisory, management and leadership development
  • Develops relevant metrics to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services offered, ensuring their relevancy to the overall mission of Covenant as well as short and long term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Continually develops and facilitates new and innovative formal and informal learning opportunities such as workshops, lunch and learns, on demand learning, retreats, certificate programs, book clubs, administrative professional conferences, leadership academies, mentoring programs
  • Plans and leads staffing initiatives, including recruitment, supervision, evaluation and development of staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Participates in significant Human Resources initiatives. Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues.
  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
  • Other duties as consistent with this role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, adult education, business administration, organizational psychology or other related field is required, Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or other related field. Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Significant experience in managing others.

Other Skills Required:

  • Demonstrable commitment to the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; skilled in facilitation, presentation and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, modern learning practices, and best practices for instructional design.
  • Working knowledge of a Learning Management System
  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills and excellent judgment a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and database management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines and adaptability and flexibility required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
