What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician - Part-Time position at Covenant Physician Partners?
We are hiring a Part-Time Endoscopy Technician to join our team at Gulf Comprehensive Surgery Center located in Englewood, Florida.

SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 2-3 days per week
SUMMARY:
The Technician assists the physician, RN and LPN with Endoscopy procedures and patient care. Additionally, the Technician is responsible for the cleaning and processing of scopes and accessories, and ensures that instrumentation is available for use when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Washes and decontaminates all endoscopes and accessories and verifies that all essential equipment is functioning properly each day.
- Assists in all rescue and/or resuscitation efforts as deemed necessary by attending physician, anesthesia provider and/or Center Manager.
- Maintains processors and autoclaves, performing daily checks and cultures and documenting in the appropriate records. Monitors cleaning solution daily for potency, and records results appropriately.
- Aids in explaining the procedure to patients and assists in psychologically preparing patients for procedures, communicating effectively with patients and families as well as physicians and peers.
- Assists Physician and RN with all Endoscopy procedures, including patient positioning and biopsy/polypectomy.
- Handles any specimens obtained during procedure, properly labeling, packaging and preparing for shipment.
- Ensures that all instruments and supplies are available as needed during procedures.
- Works well within a team environment.
- Engages in various clerical and recordkeeping duties as needed.
- Cleans and restocks procedure rooms and processing areas, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, assisting in the receipt of incoming supplies.
- Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and procedures.
- Assists with the transport and discharge of patients.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school education or equivalent.
- New grads welcome.
- Previous experience in Endoscopy processing strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
- Current certification in BCLS.
