Covenant Woods, in Hanover County VA, has a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced End User Support Specialist (IT). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in level 1 support and a high level of customer service.

The EUS Specialist provides level 1 support for staff computing and telephony needs, life/safety system support, audio/visual setups, as well as general resident technology needs. The position requires knowledge of personal computer architecture, Microsoft Windows client configuration, and Microsoft Exchange and Outlook setup and troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Setup and support of staff end-user computing devices and software, maintain inventory of same; setup and support of user accounts and folders on the servers; setup and support of user email accounts; setup and assistance with audio/visual programs; setup and support of phones and phone system (including wiring).
  • Setup and support of phone service and basic cable TV and internet access assistance; setup and support of life safety devices and infrastructure; assistance with other technology needs as skills and time allow (or referral to outside entity for assistance).
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to residents and staff; read, interpret and apply technical data processing manuals and related documents; research technical manuals and guides to respond to questions and solve issues; prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects; ability to learn and adapt to new technologies; work independently and as a team member.
  • Develop and conduct basic training and instruction for use of technology, the environment and operating systems, logging in and accessing email and other essential resources.
  • Maintain and track the inventory of end user computing devices for all departments and the overall organization.
  • Create and maintain an attitude with staff and residents of warmth, personal interest and positive, calm environment
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a technical support role supporting applications and/or desktop computing needs.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, inquisitive mind, and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Warm and caring personality is essential for the senior living environment.
  • Healthcare IT experience is a plus.
  • Must enjoy learning new technologies and working on a wide variety of assignments.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in terms that non-technical humans can understand.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm plus on call rotation
