What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Coverent?
The Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and controls. This position reports directly to the CFO.
The Controller's responsibilities include the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, timekeeping system management (Deltek Costpoint experience required), and all other items related to the financial accounting system.

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department
o Timely production of monthly/ YTD financial statements on a monthly basis including all associated schedules and reports
o Oversight and management of period end close process
o Management of all accounting related processes and functions
o Development, implementation and execution of new policies, processes and procedures as related to accounting and financial reporting
o Collation and coding of expenses/maintenance of General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
o Production of ad-hoc reports as requested by management of Finance Operations/Treasury
o Contract cost management/ authorizations
o Train, mentor, and oversee other accounting staff

o Vendor authorizations/ Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable/ Collections
o Payroll
* Liaison with HR and outsourced payroll provider
o Expense Reimbursements
* Processes, Procedures and Oversight of Financial planning

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
* Minimum of 10 Years' experience in accounting/finance
* 3 years of experience as an accounting manager
* Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
* 1 Years of experience using CostPoint/Deltek
* Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
* Pays strict attention to detail
* Ability to obtain a government clearance
* Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking large projects
