What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medicare Sales Associate position at CoverRight?

Company Overview

CoverRight is an insurance technology (‘insurtech’) startup on a mission to make Medicare more accessible to the 60 million Medicare beneficiaries across the country. We help the 10,000 people retiring every day make one the most complex but important decisions as they age into retirement – finding the right health insurance.

We're backed by reputable venture capital investors and have assembled a passionate and driven team to tackle an industry long overlooked by technology. Our mission is to become the most trusted partner in navigating the early-stages of retirement.

Our team is tight-knit, scrappy, and adaptable. We move fast, take risks, and get things done. And, most importantly, we care deeply about each other and our customers.

We have aggressive goals as we accelerate growth and are looking to bring on new team members who are able to move mountains to ‘get things done’.

About the Sales Associate (Medicare) role

CoverRight is looking for licensed health insurance agents with AHIP certification (preferred) & current health & life insurance license (required) to join our sales team at the ground floor.

If you have a desire to help seniors and a hunger and ambition to work and grow with a hyper-growth startup, this role is perfect for you. This role will give the agent the opportunity to accelerate their career as our business goes from strength to strength.

What makes this role special is you’ll be joining a small team at the ground-level with an ambitious mission to redefine the Medicare selection and enrollment experience with technology.

In order to succeed at this role, you must have high autonomy and the ability to drive outcomes through your own desire to achieve success.

In this role, you will…

  • Get on the phone and serve as the first point of contact for prospective customers
  • Be a subject matter expert on Medicare for our clients delivering education, guidance and advice
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide customers throughout the whole Medicare process
  • Demystify the industry jargon and make Medicare easy to understand
  • Work closely with CoverRight’s CEO and have the opportunity to have a hands-on approach in setting up the company’s sales function at it scales
  • Collaborate with technology and other teams to ensure both a seamless customer experience and improve our agent-facing technology
  • Continuously improve your performance in a metrics-driven environment, directly impacting your earnings

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • 2-3 years of Medicare (Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug Plan) sales experience. We will also consider candidates who have sold Life or Health products insurance at fast-growing insurtechs
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Current AHIP certification (preferred if you have previously sold Medicare)
  • History of compliant insurance sales practices
  • Spanish/English - Bilingual an added plus
  • State licenses (ideally at least 10 from this list or can quickly obtain) in: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, ME, MI, MO, MS, NE, NC, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV
