Diesel Service Technician

Schedule :

Monday-Friday 2PM-10 : 30PM

Job Duties :

  • Perform and understand detailed inspections and preventive maintenance schedules of equipment. Making sure equipment is safe and maintained to DOT and Cowan Standards
  • Perform preventive maintenance services and repairs on equipment in a timely manner with little or no supervision under the guidance of the Advanced Diesel Diagnostic A Technician, up to and including, mechanical, engine, transmission, emissions systems, steering systems, suspension systems
  • Using diagnostic programs to complete basic equipment diagnostics.
  • Keeping work areas clean and safe for you and others.
  • Helps to oversee the Lube C Technician under the guidance of the Advanced Diesel Diagnostic A Technician.
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2 years or more of practical experience with tractor and trailer maintenance and repairs.
  • Experienced using tools of the trade (including diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools).
  • Valid class A or B CDL driver’s license Preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Manufacturer specific training, and or Vocational School, and or College Level Diesel Program preferred but not required.
  • ASE, A / C section 609 Certification- Preferred but not required.
  • ASE Certifications Preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to solve problems.
  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces. Standing or reaching in awkward and sometimes uncomfortable positions to work on equipment.
  • Must be a driven individual, possessing a positive attitude, good work ethic, and someone who strives to learn and improve their skill level.
