Diesel Service Technician

Schedule :
Monday-Friday 2PM-10 : 30PM
Job Duties :
- Perform and understand detailed inspections and preventive maintenance schedules of equipment. Making sure equipment is safe and maintained to DOT and Cowan Standards
- Perform preventive maintenance services and repairs on equipment in a timely manner with little or no supervision under the guidance of the Advanced Diesel Diagnostic A Technician, up to and including, mechanical, engine, transmission, emissions systems, steering systems, suspension systems
- Using diagnostic programs to complete basic equipment diagnostics.
- Keeping work areas clean and safe for you and others.
- Helps to oversee the Lube C Technician under the guidance of the Advanced Diesel Diagnostic A Technician.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 2 years or more of practical experience with tractor and trailer maintenance and repairs.
- Experienced using tools of the trade (including diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools).
- Valid class A or B CDL driver’s license Preferred but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Manufacturer specific training, and or Vocational School, and or College Level Diesel Program preferred but not required.
- ASE, A / C section 609 Certification- Preferred but not required.
- ASE Certifications Preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to solve problems.
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces. Standing or reaching in awkward and sometimes uncomfortable positions to work on equipment.
- Must be a driven individual, possessing a positive attitude, good work ethic, and someone who strives to learn and improve their skill level.
