POSITION: Bagging Machine Operator

REPORTS TO: Production Line Supervisor- Floor Boss

DUTIES:

• Operates and maintains equipment to ensure packages are properly filled and sealed.
• Monitors fruit and packaging to ensure that quality specifications are always met.
• Knows customer specific Packaging needs and expectations.
• Ensures minimum weight are met for each pack, immediately informs Packing Line Supervisor of any issues.
• Oversees equipment and troubleshoots issues. Calls on maintenance for assistance.
• Verifies that all bag clips and packaging information is accurate, any issues with wrong clips, barcodes and master containers are to be reported to Packing Line Supervisor immediately.
• Provide bag to box personnel supplies to complete each pack style requirement.
• Ensures that handling of fruit from bag machine to box placement is done without bruising or damage to the apples.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Double check weights of bags constantly.
• Work withing sorting personnel to stay within grade. Advise Packing Line Supervisor of grade issues.
• Rotate workstations.
• Responsible for training staff on the job.

REPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for ensuring every bag/pouch to be properly sealed and clips are correct.
• Overall packed box appearance is of high quality.
• Correct pattern is being used to fill master containers to minimize mishandling.
• Print on clips is legible and accurate.
• Weight scales are functioning properly, calibrated and accurate.
• Supervise or assist staff in conducting and documenting inspections/recordkeeping as required by Regulatory and/or customer specified audit schemes.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands, follows and complies with company safety policies.
• Understands, follows and complies with company food safety and sanitation policies.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift 40lbs occasionally.
• Repetitious and/or prolonged lifting, walking, standing and carrying.
• Works in a warehouse environment that is subject to temperature fluctuations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.54 - $17.54 per hour
