Job Summary
Cox Communications is looking for a Business Analysis Manager within the Marketing Data Strategy organization. The Business Analysis Manager engages with business stakeholders to produce business requirements documents, supports data lineage analysis and discovery, interviews data domain subject matter experts and owners to deliver source-to-target mapping and business glossary artifacts, and effectively communicates these findings to the business partners and technology delivery teams. The role requires SQL to analyze, profile, and extract data samples from a variety of data sources and environments.

Primary Responsibilities
- Leads efforts to interpret data in a manner that logically addresses identified business issues
- Engages with business partners and data end users to determine information requirements
- Interfaces with clients to set expectations about data availability and anticipated reporting outcomes
- Discovers impactful insights that are both critical and relevant from a business analytics standpoint
- Consults with business leaders to identify new reports or data needed to support business decision making
- Simplifies and standardizes reports for use across the organization
- Identifies and recommends ways to improve Data Analysis tools, technologies, and methods
- Leads working sessions with business and technology partners to review, analyze, and identify data requirements and produces business requirements documents as part of multiple business initiatives
- Conducts data analysis for the discovery of useful information that informs conclusions to support decision making
- Delivers required artifacts such as source-to-target mappings that provide lineage, business glossary, sample data, transformation rules, and other relevant information needed from which the technology development teams will be able to generate their technical requirements documents and initiate their development cycles
- Performs detailed and end-to-end data lineage analysis to be able to speak to where a data entity comes from, how it is transformed, and where it lands and persists
- Creates test cases and validates the requirements
- Provides estimates for the level of effort and delivery timelines to support project management
- Participates and contributes to team initiatives and projects to build and support a mature business process for architecture and data modeling, governance, and controls
- Creates presentations and coordinates meetings to effectively communicate results with leadership, technology delivery teams, and other stakeholders
- Initiates the identification of actionable insights and contributes to the development of business data strategy recommendations through effective presentations and communication of results

Qualifications
Minimum
- BA/BS degree and 6 years of experience in related field (Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering) OR MS degree and 4 years of related experience OR Ph.D. and 1 years of related experience OR 10 years of related experience with no degree
- Proven experience creating business requirements documents and data mapping
- Experience with both structured (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake) and non-structured data sources
- Experience using SQL language in the context of analyzing, sampling, and generating sample data sets
- Experience using cloud technologies like AWS and Snowflake
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong problem-solving, multitasking, analytical, and creative skills
- Self-starter with strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail
- Excellent skills in teamwork, communication, presentation, and time management to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
- Experience working in an Agile environment
Preferred
- BA/BA or MS degree in Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering
- Experience working with different data architectures including transactional and dimensional models
- Experience with operational data stores and data warehousing environments
- Experience with Master Data, Data Governance, and Enterprise Data Catalog business process and tools
