What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Audit Services Data position at Cox?
- AS interns will support Cox business units by conducting and completing advisory and assurance engagements scoped around the following approaches and methodologies: Six Sigma process improvement, customer experience, market and business assessments, strategic alignment, mergers and acquisitions, data analytics, financial and operational controls, regulatory compliance, and IT security and vulnerability.
- The AS Data Intern will have a special emphasis on data processing requests, such as data extraction, translation, and loading (ETL), data validation and accuracy, data reporting and analysis, and data system and technology vendor management.
- This will include collaborating with cross-functional technology resources to identify, access, and query cross-platform data sources; analyze and evaluate data-related solutions to identify opportunities for improvement of supporting systems and/or processes; and work directly with vendors and stakeholders to keep data-related solutions updated and functioning as intended.

- This program will provide extensive hands-on training as well as opportunities for formal classroom instruction. As fulltime members of their assigned project teams, Interns can expect to be exposed to a broad range of experiences including:
- Business strategy and best practice design
- Process mapping, analysis, and improvement
- Risk and control assessments
- Networking with key project and business stakeholders
- Exposure to Company leadership

- Each intern will be assigned an Advisory & Assurance Manager for performance management and career development as well as an Advisory & Assurance Specialist to serve as their day-to-day mentor.
Qualifications:
- Presently engaged in a bachelor’s or master's program with a concentration in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 on 4.0 scale is required
- High degree of academic and extracurricular achievement
- Work experience relevant to technical systems support and/or data analysis is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel and translate business/data requirement into technical terms
- Proficiency with data analytics and SQL/query languages; Proficiency with MS Office
- Proven ability to work productively with people of diverse functional expertise and backgrounds; building and maintaining excellent working relationships; leading by example in embracing change, resolving conflicts, fostering positive team dynamics, and displaying team-orientation and personal integrity
- Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills demonstrating a consistent attention to detail; solid organization and workflow skills
- Skilled interpersonally, exhibiting solid experience with collaboration, candor, openness, diplomacy, discretion, and integrity; easily establishing rapport and trust
- Results-oriented and self-motivated; demonstrated experience with quickly assimilating new knowledge and remaining current on new developments in data management systems, data analytics, and industry knowledge
- Thriving on new challenges and a demonstrated experience with working with little supervision, managing ambiguity and autonomy, flexibility to work in an unstructured environment, and dealing effectively with uncertainty and change
- Position will include remote work; strong internet connection required
- Eligibility to work in the United States
