The Software Engineer I develops, builds, configures, customizes, integrates, administrates and documents the components of a log management platform ensuring applications and platforms are monitored appropriately as well as the log management systems are used efficiently and optimally. Coordinates with Infrastructure engineers and Technical Operations to ensure log management platforms are designed to operate in highly available and reliable environments.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
•    Develops, builds, configures, customizes, integrates and unit tests solutions and creates detailed development designs
•    Configure, deploy, integrate, and maintain Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Splunk applications in the enterprise
•    Develop, implement, configure, and test data integration flows, troubleshoot issues, and monitor the solution and servers
•    Configure and maintain Linux OSs, especially regarding the management of networks to appropriately scale system needs to meet Elasticsearch requirements and proactively mitigate system usage needs
•    Implement data retention and lifecycle management plans
•    Unit tests solutions to ensure they meet quality standards
•    Creates and maintains support documentation for implemented solutions 

Qualifications:

Minimum:
•    About 1 year of experience with hands-on development, configuration, deployment, integration or maintenance of systems using technologies that include Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, beats, Kafka, or Splunk
•    Demonstrated knowledge of Dev Ops process
•    Technical expertise in development languages, toolsets and methodologies
•    Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

Preferred: 
•    BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired such as Information Technology or Computer Science  
•    Experience in telecommunications industry desired
•    Experience with Linux configuration and administration
•    Knowledge of BitBucket and Git source controls
