What You'll Do
You'll manage all activities related to the daily operations of the auction. Here's what that'll look like day-to-day:
- Helping develop and execute operational business plans.
- Analyzing expenses and implementing procedures to improve efficiency.
- Working with commercial departments to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale.
- Supervising and developing Auction Operations staff.
- Meeting with leaders to review and resolve any Auction operation problems.
- Assisting with timely feedback to customer inquiries.
- Monitoring work volumes and staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality, and effective customer service.
- Reviewing departmental performance against key performance indicators and developing strategies for improvement.
- Partnering with various support teams (such as finance, HR, and sales) to ensure operations align with company objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Who You Are
You're a skilled leader who can handle the nitty-gritty while still seeing the big picture. Here's more on what you have to offer:
Minimum:
- A high school diploma/GED and 14 years of experience in the automotive industry or auction business. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience; a master's degree and 8 years of experience; or a PhD and 5 years of experience.
- Safe drivers are needed; a valid driver's license is required.
- Effective management, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Reconditioning and/or body shop experience.
- Proficiency with computer software, including AS400.
Physical requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
- Occasional exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and noise.
