What You'll Do
You'll manage all activities related to the daily operations of the auction. Here's what that'll look like day-to-day:
Helping develop and execute operational business plans.
Analyzing expenses and implementing procedures to improve efficiency.
Working with commercial departments to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale.
Supervising and developing Auction Operations staff.
Meeting with leaders to review and resolve any Auction operation problems.
Assisting with timely feedback to customer inquiries.
Monitoring work volumes and staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality, and effective customer service.
Reviewing departmental performance against key performance indicators and developing strategies for improvement.
Partnering with various support teams (such as finance, HR, and sales) to ensure operations align with company objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Who You Are
You're a skilled leader who can handle the nitty-gritty while still seeing the big picture. Here's more on what you have to offer:
Minimum:
A high school diploma/GED and 14 years of experience in the automotive industry or auction business. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience; a master's degree and 8 years of experience; or a PhD and 5 years of experience.
Safe drivers are needed; a valid driver's license is required.
Effective management, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
Reconditioning and/or body shop experience.
Proficiency with computer software, including AS400.
Physical requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
Occasional exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and noise.
