About this Position:
This position supports the skin/wound/ostomy department by performing secretary type tasks to help keep the department running smoothly. This team is made up of a small group of specialized nurses who travel throughout the hospital providing care to patients with skin/wound/ostomy needs. This role will include some direct patient care, providing assistance to nurses on the team. This role is vital to helping manage day-to-day functions of the department.
- Job Summary
Technician has a detailed working knowledge of department functions and is responsible for performing clerical duties, cleaning, inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and repairs of all supplies, equipment and instrumentation used in the skin/wound/ostomy department. These duties include, but are not limited to scheduling appointments, record keeping, data entry, supply orders, management of incoming communication, as well as assisting SWOT RN at bedside with basic patient care under RN’s direct supervision, i.e. assisting with bathing patients, moving patients, changing linens, and other duties as assigned.

Experience

Preferred: previous experience in a healthcare role, nursing assistant, or unit secretary.
