Junior Buyer

COXREELS® manufactures heavy duty professional grade hose, cord, and cable reels of the highest quality. Our comprehensive selection of reels includes spring retractable, hand crank and motorized hose, cord, and cable reels. We are a worldwide leader in the reel industry and have been serving customers in residential, commercial, and industrial settings since 1923. Our engineering capabilities and manufacturing processes allow us to design and build top quality products for any conceivable application where reels are needed. We manufacture in Tempe, AZ from flat sheet steel and process in-house through assembly. Our manufacturing plant is world class, clean and continuously improving.

We are looking for a new member to grow our Supply Chain team. A candidate who values a stable and productive work environment and is looking for a long-term position will be the ideal fit. The role is a good balance between tactical daily activities and supplier management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in managing demand vs. supply, a passion to support operations and keen shopping skills! This position best fits someone who is self-motivated and capable of prioritizing several simultaneous activities while dealing with a time sensitive environment. They are as comfortable in front of a computer as they are working directly with suppliers and internal resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Buyer will successfully execute the purchase of goods and services in support of Operational needs and aligned with company policies and procedures
• Act as a point of contact between various departments and suppliers as required
• Support effective communications with suppliers in terms of quality, delivery, cost, lead-times, and service.
• Support various Vendor Managed Inventory program tactical activities
• Complete ownership of the purchase order process, including confirmations, expediting, record keeping and system maintenance
• Review and recommend appropriate stock levels for purchased materials
• Identify and recommend methods for improving supplier communications, supplier performance, purchasing processes, reduction of waste, and other improvements
• Lead special research projects, sourcing events, RFPs and other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Two - Three years of Supply Chain Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business or equivalent experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires proper safety and security precautions.
• Appropriate eyewear and footwear will be necessary when accessing the production floor.
• Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
