Associate Director of Finance

The Associate Director of Finance assists the Vice President and CFO with financial and accounting decisions and supervision of the Finance Department and Agencies.

Essential Functions:

• Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources.
• Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
• Maintains integrity of the general ledger and assists with the management of the accounting function of the agency.
• Performs month-end closing procedures and prepares the Board of Directors packet for VP of Finance’s review.
• Performs reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
• Reviews Accounts Receivable balances monthly in conjunction with reconciliations and follows up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collection.
• Performs grant billing as assigned.
• Assists with preparation of the all cost reporting to regulatory agencies.
• Assists with year-end audits for all related companies.
• Supervises billing, accounts payable and payroll staff.
• Initiates performance reviews and individual and group meetings with supervised staff.
• Provides technical assistance to the Accountant position.
• Participates in Finance Department meetings.
• Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
• Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 3 years of related job experience.
• Previous successful supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong financial, organizational, accounting & information systems experience, such as Excel and MAS90 and/or Great Plains.
• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships with agency employees and management.
• Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
