What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting - Remote schedule position at CPI Card Group?
Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, monthly reconciliations and posting transactional activity including but not limited to accounts payable, intercompany and bank activity as well as communicating with others on matters related to these transactions.
Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager, this position will play a key role in our monthly accounting operations with a focus on maintaining accurate and timely financial information.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank activity monthly and work with others within the organization to resolve discrepancies. Create journal entries related to monthly bank transactions.
- Reconcile intercompany activity monthly and work with others within the organization to resolve imbalances. Create journal entries related to monthly activity if applicable.
- Process Concur batches and create journal entries related to T&E monthly expenses.
- Create other journal entries as assigned by the company but not limited to intangible assets, taxes and accounts payable.
- Process production time transactions accurately and on a timely basis.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Research and resolve unidentified differences in these accounts.
- Maintain compliance with Company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls requirements.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have the following requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant related work experience.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience in subledger or general ledger accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills – comfortable utilizing sum if, lookup functions and pivot tables.
- Experience with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the COSO internal control framework.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Ability to focus on transaction processing with strong attention to detail.
