\nDimensional Engineer will be assigned to New Product Development engineering team or Production Engineering team working cooperatively with manufacturing to develop robust processes and tooling to support the company’s growth in the industrial and aerospace investment casting markets. Individuals identified as dimensional will be exposed to the latest tooling concepts using modeling software.\n\n

\nMajor Responsibilities
\nDimensional Engineer will be assigned to New Product Development engineering team or Production Engineering team working cooperatively with manufacturing to develop robust processes and tooling to support the company’s growth in the industrial and aerospace investment casting markets. Individuals identified as dimensional will be exposed to the latest tooling concepts using modeling software.\n\n
- \n\t
- Develop, maintain, and teach “best practice” investment casting procedures and practices. \n\t
- Use problem solving tools and techniques to increase profitability. \n\t
- Responsible for the construction of all dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling needed to produce and inspect cores, wax patterns, and castings. \n\t
- Interface with tooling vendors and CPP purchasing to produce a quality tool/die at a competitive price. \n\t
- Responsible for control of dimensional quality of casting. Continuous improvement of process/product such that the castings meet or exceed customer expectations. \n\t
- Identify and address process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are not maintained in a controlled fashion. \n\t
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T \n\t
- Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, blueprints, models (CAD/NX), and layout reports. \n\t
- Good written and oral communication skills required to develop internal job instructions \n\t
- Gage R&R, SPC, non-straightening processes and other cost reduction initiatives \n
\nQualifications\n\n
- \n\t
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. \n\t
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of quality and quality systems, such as AS9100, NADCAP, ISO17025, and A2LA is necessary. \n\t
- 3 - 5 years of work experience in an Aerospace environment, foundry or related field \n\t
- Familiarity with the investment casting industry and related processes is desirable \n\t
- Strong communication skills, good PC skills, program management skills \n\t
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus \n\t
- Able to work independently with minimal directions \n
