What are the responsibilities and job description for the Formulation Chemist - Coatings position at CPS, Inc.?
- Formulates new products within the structure and guidance of a stage gate process
- Evaluates products using industry standard test methods
- Ensures existing products continue to meet current performance guidelines
- Understands competitive landscape by evaluating and benchmarking commercial samples
- Supports sales and customers by fielding questions and inquires
- Reads and interprets technical literature and specifications
- Strong analytical skillset with the ability to interpret production data and perform statistical analysis.
- Candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across different levels.
- Provides management with written and verbal reports of laboratory testing and process trials or studies.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in chemistry/related discipline
- 5 years of experience with chemical/coatings formulations and batch manufacturing processing.
- Experience with scaling up formulas in the production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of product development, research, and overall understanding of traditional manufacturing methods.
- Strong analytical skillset with the ability to interpret production data and perform statistical analysis
