Regulatory Toxicologist – Remote OpportunityDirect hire, salaried role with a global chemical supplier. Work with Product Stewardship and EH&S teams in NA and the EU. Key experiences: EU REACH and TSCA. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing third-party laboratories in support of toxicity testing and registrations. As an essential member of the Global Product Stewardship Team, you will be responsible for implementing globally derived policies and procedures, applying toxicological expertise to lead, and manage outside consultants on, scientific evaluations of products and raw materials, and providing regulatory support to both internal and external customers. You will help ensure day-to-day compliance with applicable regulations associated with products, chemicals, and materials, including REACH, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and other similar programs. You will work closely together with the business and commercial teams to ensure product stewardship and regulatory compliance processes. The Regulatory Toxicologist will proactively monitor emerging regulatory and health effects developments, provide toxicology support to product stewardship, EHS, and other business units, and contribute to company’s advocacy efforts with industry associations and regulatory authorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide product stewardship and toxicology support for the business growth and technology development in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including managing compliance with REACH, EU Poison Center Notification, TSCA, as well as product / substance registrations and reporting for local regulatory authorities. Work with product stewardship team for classifications, labeling, hazard communication in support of company’s products
- Coordinate and oversee consultants and third-party laboratories in support of toxicity testing and registrations. Initiate, monitor, and interpret company-sponsored toxicity studies on products
- Proactively monitor, interpret, and translate emerging regulatory and health effects developments. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on product regulatory updates. Incorporate toxicology and exposure information in product risk assessments
- Contribute to advocacy efforts through reviewing materials, acting as a regulatory and toxicology liaison with regulatory authorities, and representing the company in trade associations, coalitions, and other organizations to achieve company objectives
- Support business sustainability strategy for company’s products, including evaluating potential biobased raw materials, evaluating and advising on regulatory requirements and supporting customer communications
- 20% Domestic and International travel

Technical Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D.) in toxicology or related field (biology, pharmacology, public health, chemistry preferred)
- Experience with global chemical regulatory requirements, and familiarity with REACH, European Chemicals Agency, TSCA (Section 6), and similar registration programs
- Experience coordinating with consultants, overseeing or conducting toxicological testing, and providing toxicological or product stewardship support for diverse business units
- Able to interpret legal and regulatory documents
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, SAP, Outlook, etc.)
